These pets have been adopted!

This is "Sarah," she is one of the sweetest, big dogs that we have had here at the Ark of Hope. You can read all about her at "Sarah's Story." She is just about ready to go up for adoption. She is gaining weight wonderfully! Sarah has been spayed, up to date on you shots and is now very healthy!!! She is house broken and a couch potato! She loves to go for walks and to be huged and kissed on. Maybe you would know someone that needs the kind of love that Sarah or any of these other pets are so willing to give!!              This is a old picture of Sarah when she was sick. I will try to post a new one of her now that she is healthy and beautiful!

UPDATE: Sarah has been Adopted! Info soon. Sarah has a wonderful home and family. She goes to work with her Mom everyday! She is very healthy and weighs about 121 pounds now! Every dog should be as lucky as Sarah!!!

Below: Danielle needs someone to love her!

This is Danielle. She is a very sweet Shepherd Mix female who has been spayed and Micro chipped. She might be 14 months old, she is still very much a puppy with a lot of energy. Dannielle would make a great second dog to a family that already has a dog that needs a playmate. Maybe there is a boy that needs a special friend to play catch / fetch with, Danielle would be the perfect answer! There shouldn't be any problem finding Danielle a loving home - she has so much love to give herself!!! UPDATE: Danielle has been adopted, be good Danielle and love lots!

"Scrappy Doo" where are you? His picture will be here soon!

A nice couple brought "Buster" to the Ark of Hope on Monday, September 3rd. They found him running in the middle of Bear Hill Road near Oldtown, MD. They asked some of the neighbors if they recognized him, no one had. So to the Ark he came. We placed an add in the Cumberland Times Newspaper, called all the vets and the animal shelter and gave them a description of him, just in case his owners called looking for him. This male dog we named Buster is a nice, friendly guy. He looks like he was a house dog, he is nice and clean. If you recognize him please call us, maybe you can help us locate his owners, if not he will be placed up for adoption.UPDATE: Wednesday, September 5th, Ruffis, ("Buster's" real name) is back safe and sound with his own family. He walked away from his yard and then did not come when called. He was found approx. 5 miles away from his home. His family was looking and praying for his safe return. All is well now...hopefully his family will buy him a name tag with his name and phone on it and make sure it is ALWAYS on his "John Deer" collar!

Below: Inky Kitty

This beautiful kitten came to us pregnant. You can read all about her and Midnight (her last kitten of the litter, that is here at the Ark of Hope) over on the side link "The Kitties!" Inky has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She really wants to go to a family that will allow her to bring her kitten "Midnight." If not she understands that he will have to go it alone! Inky and her son Midnight have both been adopted by the same family!

Diamond

"Diamond" is the beauty above. She is really a nice dog! Friendly, loveable and playfull at 5 years old. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

Below you will see the "Duchess." She is now on a weight loss program, she needs to lose about 5 pounds. Duchess is a great dog but would rather her sister Diamond check out everyone first to make sure that they won't bite Her! Although a little timid at first, once she gets to know you, sooooo much of her funny personnality comes out. At 6 years old she would rather not be separated from her sister, they have been together their whole lives! They don't understand what's going on, they always came the Arctic Ridge Kennels for only a few days - why are they still here? They don't understand that their Dad has died or that we are trying to find them a family that will love them as much as their Dad did...

Duchess questioning, "Why am I still here?"

Above: You can see that Duchess has her head cocked to one side, she is puzzled, why is she in a rescue she wants to be in a loving home being cuddled. Duchess has a few little white spots on her face, her Dad had once said, "that it looked like someone dipped their finger in a can of white paint and dabbed her on the head with it! It makes her Unique!"

Below: Little Heidi

Little Hydie is here. We don't know to much about this little dog we named "Hydie." She was found running the streets for a couple of weeks in Hydeman, PA. We ran newspaper ads, called the vets and the shelter to see if someone was looking for their sweet little Beagle/JR/?/ mix. We never received any response :(  So now Hydie is up for adoption. She is a sweet little dog and would be great for someone that would like a "cuddle bunny!" UPDATE: HYDIE HAS A FAMILY!!! a REALLY GOOD HOME NOW, YEAH FOR HYDIE AND THE ELBINS!

Below: Soft as "Velvet"

Velet is a young kitty apporx. 8-9 months old. She came to the Ark of Hope after someone found her being mistreated! Who could hurt this adorable kitten! She is without a doubt the nicest cat I have ever had!!! And I have had a lot! You can do anything to this cat, hold her on her back like a baby, run her tummy, play with her feet and all she does is "purrrrrrr!" This kitten needs a home with someone that wants a lap kitty to cuddle! UPDATE: Velvet now has a new mom and dad that will love her for ever!!!

Below: (Right) Midnight

Midnight a 4 month old male kitten needs a home with someone that likes to play kitty games! As you can see he looks identical to his Mom - Inky, pictures on the left. It really would be wonderful if Midnight could be adopted with his Mom Inky because he is the text book "Mama's boy" UPDATE: MIDNIGHT NEVER HAS TO BE AFRAID THAT HE WILL BE SEPARATED FROM HIS MOM. THEY HAVE BOTH BEEN ADOPTED TOGETHER!

Sample Photo 11

Below are pictures of two female Rottweilers approx 5 & 6 years old. Their Dad was killed in a car accent in Cumberland, MD on August 20, 2007. "Diamond and Duchess" had been boarded here at Arctic Ridge Kennels over the past few years when their Dad would have to go out of town. Now they are here for a much different reason! They are orphans and need to be adopted. They are both spayed and up to date on their vaccinations. Diamond is very friendly where as Duchess allows Diamond check things out first to make sure everything is ok. Diamond and Duchess are both wonderful girls, they had a great life with their Dad and now we are trying to place them together if anyway possible!!!                                                                                                            UPDATE: We did it!!! Diamond and Duchess have been adopted and better yet, adopted together to a great lady who loves them so very much! I know that the Lord has told their dad, Paul, that they are in great hands and that he will be able to meet their new Mom one day! We are sooo happy for everyone here!

Duchess is on the Left & Diamond is on the right

Sparkling "Diamond"

Above: Beautiful Diamond posing for a picture! She loves any attention that you'd give her.
